Site Updates

This is a working site that I will update as new interests come along, or if something needs changing:

  • 04/1/21. Latest news is that "The News" page has been deleted, as it is too much of a commitment to constantly update it. I have some new draft articles completed which will hopefully be added here soon

  • 07/6/20. A page has been added about the relationship between Hudson's Group and the alternating group A_5, with examples of compositions that expose this relationship

  • 25/5/20. I've added some new information to the section on 'half 20-parts' of Grandsire Triples, found at the bottom of the page on 20-parts.

  • 17/3/20. A page about equal-call extents has been added.

  • 25/2/20. A page introducing the 41 Standard Surprise Minor methods has been added, with information about the tremendous advances in that field in recent years. I've also deleted some of the non-technical Minor pages referring to musical considerations, as I think these are of interest to few people.

  • 10/2/20. A page has been added about St Katharine Cree Treble Place Minor - a new six-bell method that stands out from the crowd

  • 27/8/19. A new recording has been added.

  • 25/7/19. A new recording has been added.

  • 25/7/19. Some more information has been added to the page on extents of Treble Dodging Major methods.

  • 31/5/19. A passage has been added to the Bob Triples page about peals based on the sB,sH plan.

  • 31/5/19. The passage on 21-part extents in Plain Major methods (scroll down) has been extended with reference to the new 21-part 40320 of Oxenwood Bob Major.

  • 26/5/19. A new section called Stuff has been added, for my ringing interests that don't fit a specific category. The first page to be added is about groups and non-group compositions.

  • 26/5/19. A short update has been added to 20-parts of Grandsire Triples, vis-a-vis a new peal I've discovered on the 3-lead course plan.

  • 21/5/19. A page has been added about 20-part peals of Stedman Triples.

  • 14/5/19. A page has been added about twin-bob peals of Stedman Triples that contain P-Blocks incorporated between pairs of singles, and a series of peals where the number increases.

  • 6/5/19. A new section has been added about Stedman Triples composition. The first page about different 60-course plans is now finished, and other pages will hopefully be added soon.

  • 26/4/19. A page has been added about Union Triples, a method that offers a diverse range of different peal compositions.

  • 24/4/19. Updates have been made to the pages about 20-parts of Grandsire Triples, 720s of Bob Minor, and a piece on 8-part peals has been added to the Grandsire Triples miscellaneous page.

  • 23/4/19. A new page has been added about Spliced Plain Major, dealing with my explorations into spliced Plain Bob and Hereward (a chalk-n-cheese combination)

  • 23/4/19. An exact 10-part 40320 of Bob Major has been composed, plus a separate 20-part, and a brief description about each has been added to the page about extents in Plain Major methods.

  • 21/4/19. A section has been added to the Spliced Twin Hunt Triples page about the use of Partner courses as an alternative to the hunt bell rule.

  • 18/4/19. The 20-part blocks for Bob Triples have now been turned into peal compositions, and are possibly the first 20-part 5040s ever composed in the method.
